Life Update & IECSC Haul

Hello!!!

It’s been ages, I know. I’m sorry! As always, my life has been super busy lately despite me getting nothing of substance done – I went back to school on weekends while still working full-time during the week, so pretty much everything fun in my life has been put on the back burner ): So I haven’t really had much to blog about, and though I do have tons of drafts sitting in my Evernote (I like to type them up during my commute, it gives me strength haha), since my job involves staring at the computer for seven and a half hours a day, it’s hard to find the motivation to open Photoshop when I’m at home. But I definitely miss posting, and am trying to carve out some time to work on this blog some more! I just don’t want to post once and then disappear for three years x: so I’d rather be inactive for a while and get myself together.

So last year I decided to become a licensed esthetician – skin care/makeup of course are major interests in my life to the point that I don’t really talk about anything else hahaha. Classes started in January, and since I’m only going part-time, I’m in class all day on weekends and won’t be graduating/ready to take the licensing exam until November .——–. But I love it so far! My teacher is amazing and the class is small enough that everyone gets a little individual attention, and my classmates are all super chill. It sucks dealing with weekend public transportation schedules (the subway line I take is notorious for breaking down and being slow and not even announcing it) and waking up at 6am all the time, but it’s worth it.

And a huge perk of being “in” the beauty industry is access to trade shows, like the International Esthetics, Cosmetics, and Spa Conference that took place last week! Being able to see all the latest products and machines in action, especially as a student, made me really excited about the future. Oh and then I bought stuff :B

Brunch and Killer Heels in Brooklyn!

Last week Yaling and I went with another friend down to the Brooklyn Museum to see the Killer Heels exhibit! Since Brooklyn is kind of inconvenient for us, we decided to eat there as well since we don’t often get the chance to check out their restaurants.

And of course the place we originally picked was closed that day -______- Thankfully we had a list of nearby backups and got to Elberta about ten minutes later. We ended up leaving our homes an hour later than our original plans (the three of us are not known for our punctuality haha), and we were SO HUNGRY.

Haircut and FOTD?

Hi! I was working on a post on my hair care routine and planned on including this in it, but the hair care part is taking longer than I thought. So I was like, well this part is faster and more interesting for now!

I got a haircut~ And this time at Kiwa Salon, a place that I trust in NYC. I usually have a very hard time finding a place that I really like. But now I have and sometimes I wish it was closer to home.
haircut And yes I had it cut pretty darn short! Why? Well you see most of the length is damaged hair. From split ends to breakage, I needed this cut. Honestly with all the damaged done to my hair I’m pleased that it looks as good as it currently does. I try to take care of it, but sometimes it does not work.

One thing I should mention is that although my hair, for the most part, is very wavy. On the scale of the curly hair charts, I would be considered a 2A. There is parts of straight hair mixed in with my tons of curly hair. My hair stylist gave me the impression that I may have more parts of straight hair on my head than I originally thought. So I guess there’s that.

Maybe I wasn’t the full on curly hair asian that I believed I was. :'(

Excuse my abundant use of emoticons. Can you tell just how excited I am? Hahaha.

There isn’t too much that is exciting about this post so here is a picture of S’mores posing in one of her two new winter coats! smile She isn’t a fan of clothing but she will not try to bite them off. tongue Instead she tries to shake it off but that’s no good.

I will have a post up next week about a memebox I got during the summer. tongue I am a slow one! But for now just enjoy the site! If you do find any issues leave a comment and we’ll try to fix it.

Year of the Pets!

Helloo~

It’s been a while hasn’t it? Heh…

Life has been a bit hectic lately and I’m just also prettyy lazy. Just imagine summer vacation. Muahaha. Okay so since Jessica’s post about her rats, I have also gotten a pet! I adopted this adorable dog as a birthday present from a very close friend. But it basically encompasses a few years worth of birthday presents altogether.

But her name is S’mores is she’s a little over 2 years old. She is definitely a welcome thing in my life and we are both two lazy souls who just love laying down together. But she is always super excited in the morning and at night so I can take her on her long walks.

Panda Café!

So here’s the story. While scrolling through my instagram list I noticed that one of the pictures was locationally-tagged at a place called Panda Café. Basically I thought of a friend who is absolutely obsessed with pandas. That and I needed to go there. I looked it up as in where it is and a bit of the reviews on yelp, otherwise I was really going in with no expectations what-so-ever. So I made plans with Jessica to go there on a Saturday.

The place is located in Elmhurst, which isn’t too far from Queens Center Mall. On this fine day I drove there with Jessica because we wanted to save on metrocard money and I said I’d drop her off at her boyfriend’s with her heavy laptop. Surprisingly parking wasn’t a nightmare to find despite it being Saturday and thus we parked and away we go~
