Hair Care Routine!

This is a post that has taken me a while to just word correctly. But I am here to talk about my hair routine! There’s a routine for everything unfortunately. One thing that I am going to get out of the way is that I use a mixture of full size, travel size, and samples that I’ve received. But for my own sanity and laziness I am only going to mention the full size stuff that I have purchased.

Let’s start off with me cutting my hair! I had to, with all the coloring that I had done to it…. well let’s say there was a lot of breakage happening. So now I am growing out my hair until I only have fresh, uncolored, undamaged hair on my head. smile There is one thing about my hair that I don’t think I’ve mentioned, it’s actually not 100% curly. It’s actually just rather wavy (like on the curly hair sites, I’d be a 2A), and I do have pieces of straight hair here and there. But It doesn’t really detract from the amount of volume that I naturally have.

Haircut and FOTD?

Hi! I was working on a post on my hair care routine and planned on including this in it, but the hair care part is taking longer than I thought. So I was like, well this part is faster and more interesting for now!

I got a haircut~ And this time at Kiwa Salon, a place that I trust in NYC. I usually have a very hard time finding a place that I really like. But now I have and sometimes I wish it was closer to home.
haircut And yes I had it cut pretty darn short! Why? Well you see most of the length is damaged hair. From split ends to breakage, I needed this cut. Honestly with all the damaged done to my hair I’m pleased that it looks as good as it currently does. I try to take care of it, but sometimes it does not work.

One thing I should mention is that although my hair, for the most part, is very wavy. On the scale of the curly hair charts, I would be considered a 2A. There is parts of straight hair mixed in with my tons of curly hair. My hair stylist gave me the impression that I may have more parts of straight hair on my head than I originally thought. So I guess there’s that.

Maybe I wasn’t the full on curly hair asian that I believed I was. :'(

How to Shape Side-Swept Bangs/Fringe – Without Heat!

When I got my hair cut last month, I went from bangs that went straight across my forehead to side-swept ones. I had tried to style them that way myself, before I got them trimmed, but the hair would always flop back into its original position. My stylist showed me an awesome, no-heat way to keep them in place, and it changed my life so I had to share!

Memebox: From Nature 6/2014

Ha… yes I had purchased a Memebox from a whileee back! So I guess I will include mini reviews! No individual pictures mostly because although my camera is a lot better than no camera. It’s nothing in comparison to one of them fancy cameras most legit bloggers use.

This is their “From Nature” linewhen I had purchased this wanted a box that was possibly mostly skin care because my face was in major break out mode and thought that this would be more or less very gentle on my skin. I mean although it is more or less ~natural~ products, I take it to mean that these products feature some really good ingredients found in nature instead of being all natural. Then again I know nothing about Korea and their standards for beauty companies. I mean I love it but I really haven’t heard of any 100% all natural asian beauty company that exists as of yet. So please if you have, let me know about them!

And now on with the post!

Black Phoenix Trading Post Hair Gloss Review

I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for this long (i.e. more than three hours) without mentioning my love for Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab (BPAL) perfume oils. I’ve been collecting them since 2009, but focusing on them never left me enough discretionary cash for their sister site, Black Phoenix Trading Post. But during their Halloween update last year, I finally got to try one of their hair glosses and absolutely loved it. I was really excited to get more, as they had some exclusive scents for New York Comic Con, but I was working there as a crew member and unfortunately when I was finally free to explore the con off-duty, both of them had already sold out. I may or may not have outwardly cried. For hours. ahem. But here is the one I bought last year, Lightning Storm!

Vivid flashes of dazzling electricity: white mint, white tea, white ginger, a jolt of yuzu, and electric green lime!

Haircut!

These past few days, I’ve been an ADULT and did GROWN-UP THINGS like start a retirement investment fund and go to the opthalmologist wtf who am i. Anyway since I was spending all this money on bettering myself, I also decided to get my hair cut and recolored – I grew my bangs out and failed at trimming them so I stopped doing anything to my hair and just shoved bobby pins into it and hoped it would go away (I’m a Leo, I only know how to either go all out or do nothing at all) (also conclusive evidence of my adulthood).
