It’s been ages, I know. I’m sorry! As always, my life has been super busy lately despite me getting nothing of substance done – I went back to school on weekends while still working full-time during the week, so pretty much everything fun in my life has been put on the back burner ): So I haven’t really had much to blog about, and though I do have tons of drafts sitting in my Evernote (I like to type them up during my commute, it gives me strength haha), since my job involves staring at the computer for seven and a half hours a day, it’s hard to find the motivation to open Photoshop when I’m at home. But I definitely miss posting, and am trying to carve out some time to work on this blog some more! I just don’t want to post once and then disappear for three years x: so I’d rather be inactive for a while and get myself together.
So last year I decided to become a licensed esthetician – skin care/makeup of course are major interests in my life to the point that I don’t really talk about anything else hahaha. Classes started in January, and since I’m only going part-time, I’m in class all day on weekends and won’t be graduating/ready to take the licensing exam until November .——–. But I love it so far! My teacher is amazing and the class is small enough that everyone gets a little individual attention, and my classmates are all super chill. It sucks dealing with weekend public transportation schedules (the subway line I take is notorious for breaking down and being slow and not even announcing it) and waking up at 6am all the time, but it’s worth it.
And a huge perk of being “in” the beauty industry is access to trade shows, like the International Esthetics, Cosmetics, and Spa Conference that took place last week! Being able to see all the latest products and machines in action, especially as a student, made me really excited about the future. Oh and then I bought stuff :B
